Causes of Lamb Diarrhea

Diarrhea is the leading cause of lamb mortality in first 2 weeks of life. Primary causes include: Colibacillosis (E. coli infection), Rotavirus, Cryptosporidium, and Clostridium perfringens.

Prevention Strategies

Colostrum management is critical: Ensure lambs receive 10% of body weight in high-quality colostrum within 24 hours. Passive immunity through antibodies is the primary defense in first weeks of life.
