Matings and births

Record which ram was put with which ewes and on which dates. OvinApp shows you the expected birth date and lets you enter the lambs or kids at birth.

1Go to Matings

Open the matings (or breeding groups) section of the app.

2Add a mating

Select the male, the females (manually or all of them) and the mating date range, and apply it.

3Review the list

Each mating shows the IDs and breeds of the animals, the date range and the expected birth date.

4Record the birth

Open the mating and enter the offspring born: the required data must be filled in and the ID cannot be repeated for another animal.

5If an offspring was born dead

Use the button that indicates the animal died.

6Correct a mating

You can delete a mating that was entered by mistake.

Castrated animals

OvinApp also lets you check the castrated animals on the farm.

The mating and birth data feed the reproductive indices.
