These are the 3 new functions of OvinApp – 2022

OvinApp has incorporated a series of important changes in the first quarter of 2022: here is what you need to know.

We continue to grow and incorporate more and new features that improve the production of our users, many of them come thanks to the contributions of our community.

Specifically, the App is thenumber 1 tool in the management, measurement and improvement of processes for sheep production.In short, if you are a sheep producer, you have to use OvinApp. The functions that we will describe below are only the beginning of a series of improvements that we will incorporate this year with the aim of continuing to be the most complete, intelligent, intuitive and productive tool for the sheep farmer.

1) PDF (File) REGISTRATION AND SALE

Now with OvinApp, you will be able to create in two clicks and share aregistration and sale pdfof your sheep as the most prestigious genetics cabins in the world do. Not only that, in two simple steps you will be able to share it with your WhatsApp contacts, on Facebook or on the site you want, in a very easy and intuitive way. Next, we explain how you can do it with OvinApp.

• By selecting any of your sheep (by clicking on the pencil at the top right) you will be able toadd an image or phototo be able to reference the data of that sheep and identify it.
• In addition to fulfilling this new function, when you are inside the sheep tab and clicking on the floating button at the bottom right, you will find a new function with the nameFile (PDF).
• The token will allow youcreate, export and share the pdfwith all the important information about that animal. Before performing this action, OvinApp will ask you if you want to add a sale price to the sheep or not, in this way, it will visually provide you with the sale price of your breeding ram, ewe, lamb or lamb, etc.
• When you click share, your device will give you the options to share onWhatsApp(with your friends, potential buyers, groups, etc.),Gmail(send it via email),SMSor publish it onFacebook,instagramor alsoprint itdirectly.

Data shared in the sales PDF:

• Establishment Data: Country, city, owner and contact information.
• Animal data: Date of birth, age, category, sex, daily weight gain, wool type and fiber diameter.
• Genealogical Data: Information about his father, grandfather and paternal grandmother. Information about his mother, grandfather and maternal grandmother.
• Phenotypic Data: Weight at birth, Weight at weaning, Weight at one year, current weight, scrotal circumference, number of births, number of live offspring, etc…
• Multimedia: photo of the selected sheep, breed and price.

Why is it important to have a sales record pdf?

Currently, clients can benefit from this pdf (sheet), but if you had to do it yourself or your establishment, it results in a problem, since it means increasing your work and having technical knowledge to highlight in a much clearer way the products (sheep) that you are going to sell compared to the rest of the competitors.

To achieve this, it is important to create the right sales tools anduse a good commercial strategy to reach as many customers as possible. One of these strategies will be to have a good pdf for sales. In this case, in OvinApp, with two clicks you can access your file (pdf), which you can have digitally or printed.

Advantages of the registration pdf for digital sales:

• Saving time in distribution: You can very easily share your file and thus reach more clients.
• Efficiency and Professionalism: By using the OvinApp pdf to sell your sheep, it gives customers more information about the product they are going to buy based on your records, also faster to learn about your product and thus make a purchasing decision. Of course you will elevate your establishment to the next level of technology.
• Update: Being a digital document, you will be able to have a more updated version from month to month by periodically registering in OvinApp, which will also allow you to update the sale price based on your interests or if the sheep achieved an improvement in its characteristics and growth. Example: you sent a pdf for sale when it was a lamb, you were not successful with the sale, 12 months later since it was a lamb, its price increased as well as its characteristics, so you should increase the sale price compared to when it was a lamb.

2) PRODUCTIVE AND REPRODUCTIVE INDICES

Thanks to theinformation that recordsin OvinApp, such as encarneradas or matings, types of calvings, births and sales records, among others,automated calculation is possible in OvinAppof theproductive indices and reproductive, thus achieving results that allow calculating and comparing theefficiency of your sheep system.

This new functionality in OvinApp will allow you to improve your technology and thus obtain the results of the following global indicators of your production establishment:

• Birth
• Fertility
• Prolificacy
• Weaning
• Neonatal Mortality
• Mortality in sheep
• abortions
• Waste or discards

You can find this new functionality in the menu at the top left of the APP with the name Reproductive Indices.

3) REPRODUCTIVE DATA

You can view this last functionality only in those female sheep within OvinApp. By entering the sheep module, selecting a female sheep (sheep or lamb), you will be able to see the new data in the sheep’s file. This data will be generated automatically and will show you how reproductive your sheep are on your establishment.

As an example and graphically you can identify by sheep:

• how many births did you have
• number of abortions
• number of live births
• number of failed mounts
• Stillborn animals

With this information, you will be able to identify the most productive sheep from those that are less productive. This information will allow you to make the appropriate decision for each of them. Example: if you identify sheep that have been having a single birth for 3 years or do not have live lamb births, you can separate them, sell them or slaughter them.

Remember that now you can also sell these unproductive animals or sell those very productive sheep with their records through the new Catalog functionality.
